7.3     Manage Patients

The Patient object organizes the types of subjects in a particular study, e.g., certain treatment groups or disease statuses.

Different patient types may have different visit or form structures. However, Anju recommends only having one Patient Type in almost all Trial builds, and using edit checks to control visibility of applicable visits and forms. During creation, Patients have three definable attributes: Enrolled, Dropped and Deactivated.

There are no default Patients in TrialBuilder, but new patient types can be created, edited, copied and deleted. Patients are associated with sites. Below is an example of the Patients page in TrialMaster.

You can manage patient objects in the following ways:

·        View patients

·        Add a new patient

·        Add a visit to a patient

·        Edit the patient properties

·        Manage folders

·        Edit the patient form

·        Manage patient edit checks

·        Perform bulk operations (copy, delete, or move patients)

·        Copy objects from a trial
